Ok, so I phoned apple yesterday about my charger issue.
I know what they said on the site but when I asked my oh so helpfull apple monkey if it was indeed like that... he said no, they do not replace out of warranty products.. grrr... but understandable I guess...
I did however shortly afterwards find this interesting link on how to fix a macbook charger... So tonight I will be heading to my friends house (the previously mentioned electrician) and if all goes well I should have a fully working charger (although it will be a bit of a frankenstein situation) by tonight!
Lets hope for the best!
